What I am Offering this year in Spectrum...
Good Medicine: The Art of Falling Apart
<>Come get Good Medicine with me while we explore the art of falling apart into the bones of a deliciously messy, inky, drippy art journal page. Starry eyed with song lyric and lines that tear at our insides only to medicate us back together again. Charting territories of emotion where words pull & tug at you, and where line and color caress & lighthouse you home.
Come fall apart with me.<>

I pinned your workshop on my board, funny this is the second time this week I was asked to name my favorite lyric, not by a band but a song from the mid-19th century, that speaks to my soul. Thank you for the chance to share it and to be given a spot in Spectrum this year.
ReplyDelete'Tis the gift to be simple, 'tis the gift to be free
'Tis the gift to come down where we ought to be,
And when we find ourselves in the place just right,
'Twill be in the valley of love and delight.
When true simplicity is gained,
To bow and to bend we shan't be ashamed,
To turn, turn will be our delight,
Till by turning, turning we come 'round right.[
Thanks for the Pin! How cool that this is the second time that you are sharing this song. It must be Good Medicine for you! Thank you for stopping by and participating in the blog hop :)
DeleteSo many song lyrics to choose from! A recent favorite is "that's a fine looking high horse" from Hozier's Take Me to Church. It's a good reminder to stay humble. I pinned the workshop link on my Online Art Classes board.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Pin! Oh man... Hozier is new to me and a def. obsession. In. Love. This is a realllly good juicy song. I love everything about it. The lyrics are delicious and the sound is right up my alley! Great share thanks Mellissa for reminding me I gotta get some Hozier up on my playlist stat!

ReplyDeletei want to be on instgram but my old technology does not support it. i am continuing to work on making it happen.
Oh don't you dare look back
Just keep your eyes on me.
I said your holding back,
She said shut up and dance with me!...
Deep in her eyes,
I think I see the future.
I realize this is my last chance...
This woman is my destiny
She said oh oh oh
Shut up and dance with me
From "Shut Up and Dance With Me
Fun Guns
Thanks for the FB share! This is a catchy ditty isn't it? I got in my car for a drive today and bam this song was on my XM radio SHUT UP AND DANCE! Good one :) Thanks for sharing and stopping by here to participate in the giveaway!
DeleteThank you so much for the giveaway, I shared on Pinterest and my favorite song lyrics are from Sara Bareilles - Brave. I sing out loud every time she says: Say what you wanna say

DeleteTweeted (I'm still learning Instagram ...). I love these lyrics from Deep Down:
ReplyDeleteThey say, they say
We should have known better than to
fall so deep down, deep down
into this rabbit hole we found
and i was thinking
on the long way down here
no life, no light, no sight. no sound down here
hold my hand now
eyes closed don't stop down deep
into this pool of regrettable situations
pitch black
think back to the last time
that we were happy
Thanks for the chance to win!
Thanks for Tweeting! I am not familiar with this song. I really love these lyrics I shall have to give it a listen! I love being turned on to new music so thank you for that and thank you for sharing!

I tweeted about this blog post. My favorite lyrics (hard to choose, I love poetry and song so much!) are the words to "Fragile" by Sting.
ReplyDeletef blood will flow when flesh and steel are one
Drying in the color of the evening sun
Tomorrow's rain will wash the stains away
But something in our minds will always stay
Perhaps this final act was meant
To clinch a lifetime's argument
That nothing comes from violence and nothing ever could
For all those born beneath an angry star
Lest we forget how fragile we are
On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star
Like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are
How fragile we are
On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star
Like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are
How fragile we are
How fragile we are
How fragile we are
Thanks for the Tweet! Oh yessss Sting ❤️ soooo good!!!

DeleteI "shared" your FB blog hop post from your FB page on mine. I'm afraid I am not so seen on favourite things as a general option; I just enjoy/love things without singling them out so much. I can't think off the top of my head a lyric to choose. Instead I'll share a current artist that I'm really enjoying : Wendy McNeill is an amazing quirky storyteller musician and so amazing in person. I highly recommend checking her out. And even looking up the stories behind her songs!
ReplyDeleteOk, one of her albums lists song lyrics...
I wrote for the wanting
I wrote for the need
I wrote for the wind
What it gifted me
Wide the wonder
Wild the hunger
Eyes like the sea
I felt them melting through me
Until all I could see
Was precious
Thanks for the FB share! These are amazing lyrics thanks for a new artist to check out!
DeleteShared on Facebook! One of my favorite new lyrics is by Seven Lions featuring Davey Havok in the song 'December'
ReplyDelete"I saw... your breath... decorate the air" For whatever reason I think it's quite beautiful.
Thanks for the FB share! One of my fav lyrics is from a counting crow song " cigarette the winter air"... So I'm right there with you in this one❤️ thanks!
DeleteI shared on Pintrest. One of my favorite lyrics is from the Black Keys, Little Black Submarines
ReplyDeleteOh can it be
The voices calling me
They get lost
And out of time
I should've seen it glow
But everybody knows
That a broken heart is blind
Thanks for the pin I love the black keys! I haven't heard this song I need to get on it! Thank you for stopping by :)
